Who I Am and Where I Started

If you’re wondering who I am, beyond what you see in the images, sounds, and rhythms I share, this is a deeper look. My name is Alan Philip Muller, and my creative path has always followed an instinctive pull toward expression. From a very young age, I found myself captivated by the emotional charge of sound and the visual poetry of the world around me.

I began DJing at 16, fascinated by how rhythm, tempo, and genre blending could alter a room’s energy. By the age of 18, I was composing electronic music and crafting immersive soundscapes. But music was only the beginning. In 2008, I discovered photography. It became a natural extension of how I saw the world: a way to freeze emotion, light, and time. It offered me silence, reflection, and a new lens through which to frame life.

In late 2024, I embraced videography not just as a technical step, but as a response to a creative need. Still images no longer sufficed. I wanted to create movement, tell more nuanced stories, and blend what I had learned through sound with what I had captured visually. Videography became the missing link between my audio and visual practices.

The Creative Evolution

Each discipline shapes the others. My sense of timing and progression as a DJ informs how I build tension and release in video. My eye for composition, honed through photography, sharpens my ability to frame motion. And the rhythm of video editing often echoes the musicality I developed through mixing. These aren’t separate silos of skill. They are intertwined languages of creative expression that constantly speak to each other.

Photography, Videography, and DJing are the three pillars of my practice. And understanding who I am means seeing how I combine them, not by following trends, but by listening to what a story, a subject, or a moment demands.

My Values: What Defines Me as an Artist

I care about depth. I look for beauty that’s not superficial, but emotional. Whether I'm photographing a windswept landscape, filming an architectural detail, or building a DJ set that spans three hours, I strive for something that resonates.

I don’t create for algorithms or mass appeal. I create because I believe in the power of authentic storytelling, and I want my work to resonate with people who share the same sentiments. Technique matters, but it always follows instinct. What defines who I am is the tension between control and freedom, clarity and intuition.

I also believe in working ethically and legally, especially when it comes to drone work or public spaces. Professionalism and respect are as integral to my creative identity as vision and talent.

Understanding who I am also means understanding what I value in collaboration. I look for projects that challenge conventions, that bring people together, and that allow space for experimentation. Whether I am working with a team or solo, I approach each process with curiosity and openness. I value clear communication, shared vision, knowledge exchange, and creative freedom.
